Getting settled and Halloween

Hey, did you guys see the new poster for the latest Cannonball Run movie? Looks like it's gonna be bad-ass. Actually, this lineup of sweet sweet rides is from the Chipotle parking lot the other day, but we did just finish our cannonball blast from Petaluma, CA to Homer, AK to Boston, MA over the past 10 months! There was just no way we were gonna stop with only a couple more hours to go, and despite wet conditions, traffic and narrow roads, we made it just in time for dinner with Ann's mom and brother's family and to put the kids to bed. This'll do! Moved the trailer into "Campsite #1" (as labeled by our nephew) this morning. The mulch was so soft that, even with a "Lego" under the foot, the tongue jack just compressed the mulch like a trash compactor, so I pulled it up, added another block and repeated. And repeated. All set! Of course, getting out of this spot in January could prove "interesting." Also ran the first tests of the #advancedmoochdocking setup I've been ordering parts for as we got approached. Based on a Google satellite view of the property, I'd determined we'd need a 100' extension cord for power. I guess the 10 awg wire was worth it since our EMS shows 121V at the trailer. Next tests were the macerator pump and a 100' slightly inclined run. Well, I spent the day dealing with a buncha crap. Paying bills, reconfiguring our insurance, researching new tires for the truck (and trying to find a competent installer), mailing packages of baby hand-me-downs to friends, making room on the hard drive and fidgeting with a long-distance macerator setup that always seems to cut out when I have a hundred foot hose full of liquified... Well, like I said, I've been dealing with a lot of crap. 😉 But on the plus side, we do have a big project on the horizon that we're really excited about and, of course, there are cousins on an ATV. #maetv #cousins #macerator #toyhauling

Project Day: For me, cleaning, stripping and painting the rusty, gravel-pocked parts of our Equalizer hitch after those Alaskan roads. For Wynne, sanding a few scrap pieces of plywood that she later requested be screwed together as a bed for her stuffed animals. Next up, repainting the A frame and steps (for me, not sure what Wynne has planned). #rvhoneydolist
